House To Stir Some Changes For Next Season

Having just aired its season three final episode, House fans are now pondering on what to expect on the much-awaited season four.

House has consistently performed well in terms of ratings and viewership in its three-season span by showcasing the residents under the wing of Dr. Gregory House, played by Hugh Laurie, as they go through medical problems in the fictional hospital in Princeton, New Jersey. Yet, producers are cooking up some changes that will possibly give the hit medical drama a new twist. Executive producer has revealed, “How long can that stay the same? How long can someone work for House and not change themselves? Next season will be different. We're not saying who is coming back and who is not, just that it'll look very different."

Read on to find out more about the changes.
Season four will return with the departure of Dr. Foreman, who is played by actor Omar Epps, whose future has been in doubt in the past few episodes. However, his exit from the hospital does not mean that he is gone.

Another feature of season four is the focus on the mutual attraction of House and Cuddy, played by Lisa Edelstein. "I can't see them pairing them in a permanent fashion. But they are close; they have gone through a lot together. Might there be a moment of weakness in which the two might explore their chemistry? Maybe," says Jacobs.

Like other actors on a TV series, Edelstein is also kept in the dark about the details of the future plot although she is open to the idea of House and Cuddy getting together. "I would love for them to have a relationship, because it could be as complicated as the rest of their relationship is. But I don't know how it would affect the dynamics of the show," Edelstein has said.

I 3 non lavoreranno più con House ma sono nel cast fisso della serie.
Gli altri che abbiamo visto in queste due puntate invece non sono fissi, resteranno per un po' ma probabilmente piano piano andranno via o saranno sostituiti.

Adesso sono ancora parecchi, dovrebbero rimanere il chirurgo estetico, quello di colore, la bionda, il numero 6 poi diventato 9 e la sosia di cameron.

Dr. House might have found his new underlings.

According to sources, Kal Penn, Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson will continue on the hit medical series "House" as regulars.

There were among a number of recurring actors on the show, playing candidates to work with Dr. House (Hugh Laurie), following the departure of his previous assistants, played by Jennifer Morrison, Jesse Spencer and Omar Epps.

Penn, Wilde and Jacobson's characters were early standouts in this week's episode, which introduced all applicants.

Originally, the plan was for two of the characters to stick around and for the actors playing them to become regulars on the UMS-produced series. But the producers ended up picking up three actors, sources said.

The script for the episode, which would reveal Dr. House's final selection, is expected to be distributed today.(October 3).

La vincitrice di un Academy Award, Mira Sorvino sarà guest star nell'episodio di House che sarà trasmesso subito dopo il Super Bowl.

On Fox’s “House,” for example, the planned story arc for the second half of the season “is pretty much being thrown out,” David Shore, the show’s executive producer, said. “We have to see how much we can salvage.”

The series, among the most popular on television, is not likely to broadcast new episodes until late April or early May, Mr. Shore said.

But “House,” like several other hits, may stay in catch-up mode through the early summer. “I think we’re just going to keep on producing episodes now that we’re back in production,” he said. “We’ll start working on next season.”Source: NY Times

L'episodio in due parti originariamente pianificato per la domenica del Super Bowl e per il martedì seguente, adesso chiuderà la stagione. Questo secondo il creatore della serie, David Shore. In questo finale, House avrà un incidente e non avrà più ricordi delle ore precedenti l'accaduto.

"Scoprirà cosa ha dimenticato e la sua importanza. Fargli recuperare la memoria è essenziale," ha continuato Shore.

House suspects an emergency room patient has a bigger problem then the E.R. initially diagnosed based on the fact that the patient is too nice. Ausiello: That hardly qualifies as disrespectful, Ellen. No, disrespectful is telling me (as Aushole Jason did) that I deserve to be "run over by a New York City bus" for ignoring House these past few weeks. See the difference there? Anywho... I'm jumping back on the House scoopwagon in a big way this week with news that Fox, in collaboration with producer NBC Universal, is quietly developing a House spin-off for next season. As I understand it, producers are introducing a new male character for a multi-episode arc and, assuming the actor they find really pops in the role, he may be spun off into his own show. But there's a twist, and it's a big one: Per multiple sources, this newbie is not a doctor, but rather a private investigator! And no, his name isn't Twitter. Lisa Edelstein Interview
There is an interview with Lisa Edelstein about the season finale and first hints to the 5th season, I can quote a few lines:

"Edelstein commented that the real question on everyone’s mind at season's end will be: “What will become of House and Wilson’s friendship?” The series has already started filming season five and will continue filming without a break until August — barring a much-feared actors’ strike. (The Screen Actors Guild contract expires on June 30.) In addition to exploring the deepening relationship between House and Cuddy, the fifth season will kick off with a House/Wilson storyline, says Edelstein. “Their friendship is on the line.” Of course, she added, it’s anyone’s guess what will happen if there’s another strike. (And it’s a distinct possibility). “We’re all holding our breath; it’s very scary.” It is one reason why they’ve jumped right into season five without the customary break between filming seasons."

Stalker alert! Sources confirm to me exclusively that Michael Weston, best known as Michael C. Hall's psychotic pursuer on Six Feet Under, is in advanced talks to appear on House next season in a multi-episode arc that could lead to his own spinoff.

But, as I reported last week in Ask Ausiello, the actor — also well remembered as Mariska Hargitay's long-lost bro on Law & Order: SVU — won't exactly be scrubbing in next to the show's title crab: He'll be playing a private eye. So it's probably a good bet that the potential offshoot would look more like Magnum P.I. than House 2.0.

Fox will wait to see if Weston catches on in the role before deciding whether or not to move forward with the spin-off.
