Chad Michael Murray has stated that Lucas will be a best-selling author releasing his second book, and will also be Coach of Tree Hill's High School Basketball Team. Lucas will help a struggling 18 year old and become very depressed and look to his friends for help.

In a trailer that has aired in France for Season Five, it states that "Brooke Davis will become a fashion icon" and that some will pursue their dreams as they show Peyton and then display a cut to a large gathering of individuals. Finally, they say that some will have theirs taken away as it cuts to a newspaper stating "Local Basketball player has NBA Dreams cut short" with a picture of Nathan.

There have been rumours that Nathan and Haley will not have any problems. Rachel and Mouth become a couple, Jake will return, two people will die and Dan might be one of them, Chase and Brooke break up, Brooke and Lucas's relationship isn't over, and Bevin and Skills get married.

Question: How would you explain the success of the show?

CMM: I think that the variations that makes Tree Hill kind of have it's own characteristics is there is something for everybody, you know? A lot of shows don't' have the Mouth character, the Mouth McFadden character. I think that anybody can kind of find someone to connect to in the show: you got a jock who's an *******, you got a jock who's a great guy, you got listeners, you got people who are loners, you got - ya know - preppy chicks, you got bitchy chicks. Kind of a little bit of variation of people. I think that there's always going to be somebody that you can identify with

Question: What do you think are the strongest topics of the series?

CMM: I mean, I mean, that's a very good question. We deal with all sorts of issues on our show. I don't necessarily have a particular favorite one. There's not one particular issue that I find to be the most intriguing. We've dealt with everything from, you know, relating to the Columbine incident to young pregnancies to young parenthood and young marriages and I feel like we've really done a great job in trying to bring realism to it, sometimes..not as much as others, but we've tried to bring the drama to that reality. Our writers have done a decent job and we just try to perform it to the best of our abilities with what they put on the page.

Question: Do you have a season preference?

CMM: Season 4, believe it or not is my favorite. Season 4 is by far my favorite. The end of season 4, the season finale, it ends perfectly. It is the best ending I thought we could've had to the show. We're continuing on so the writers kind of have a lot of work to do to make it better onto season 5. If you're going to beat Season Four's ending, they've got a lot of work to do. There's a lot of great episodes. We research the death of my uncle and my battle and my conflict against it. Peyton and Lucas' relationship grows and goes in very..I guess, obvious directions. I think that certain things crumble and fall away, certain people have problems and baby issues and I mean there's definitely drama in Tree Hill as tacky as that is to say.

Question: What will happen in season 5?

CMM: We're going to skip ahead for Season 5. We're skipping four years..we're just going to jump across it, but you guys are going to find out what happens. We're going to tell those stories. We're going to let them out. I'll be 22 instead of 17. I'm still four years younger than I am in real life so I'm still playing young, but that's alright. I'll have a beard. I'll give myself a beard. All I do know is that Lucas has put out a book by this point and everyone is awaiting his second book. He's not sure how honest he can be about his second book, and I do know he does end up becoming the coach of The Ravens. That's as much as I know at this point.

Question: What is the future of the series?

CMM: Just from what I hear I feel like it's coming to the end, coming to a conclusion. We're going to hit 100 episodes and that's something to be incredibly proud of. We're all getting a little old and I think the network is trying to make a lot changes so we'll see.

Question: Upcoming projects for you?

CMM: I have no time. I have no time. I mean we have tight little windows, 2-3 months, to fit in the perfect project, and I've been incredibly picky. Next season, Hilarie Burton, who plays the good girl Sawyer, wants her character to turn the tables.

"I want to be a bitch real bad," Burton told the Daily News from North Carolina, where the hit CW show is taped. "I feel like aggression needs to be a mood that we see from Peyton Sawyer. And those parts are always more fun to play anyway."

She might get her wish. Major character changes are ahead for "One Tree Hill," which revolves around a group of high-school students.

After tonight's finale, the show will go on hiatus until next season. When viewers see the cast next, they'll be four years into the future, having already gone through college. "[The writers] were super-gung-ho about [the jump] and I really took to the idea because nobody wants to have the 'Saved by the Bell' effect, where they all go to college and they all live in the same dorm room and you have to explain all that and it's totally hokey and unrealistic," she said.

"We've seen all these other teen-drama shows try to go that route and that's where it starts to fall apart. So instead of following that pattern, [the show's creator and executive producer] Mark [Schwahn] was always adamant about carving our own niche and jumping ahead. It's a really good opportunity for our characters to totally start over.

"The period in your life between graduating high school and graduating college is probably when you change the most," said Burton. "We can all come back, and maybe some of us will still be really tight and others of us will be totally different people - and I'm excited to see which is which."

Besides, Burton explained, the "One Tree Hill" gang has already experienced the things most kids have to wait until college to try out. The show launched in 2003 on the WB and moved to the CW when the WB merged with UPN.

"We've already had the keggers and lived without our parents and all that kind of stuff. Now we get to do, basically, a brand-new show with characters people are already attached to.

"It really makes me proud to be a part of a production like this," said Burton. "It could be just another teen drama, they're a dime a dozen, but we really go out of our way to try something new."

Va bene diventare più sicura di sè, essere meno fragile nei confronti della vita, grazie alle esperienze fatte fino ad allora, ma.... un tale snaturamento del personaggio mi sembra proprio eccessivo!!!

Io AMO il personaggio di Peyton proprio per quello che è e per tutto ciò che ha rappresentato in queste 4 serie. Vedere Peyton diventare la Rechel o la Brooke di turno (anche se loro fondamentalmente non sono mai state cattive, hanno solo collezionato una marea di errori :laughing:) proprio noooooooooo!!!

Mi ricordo la presentazione dello show e la stessa locandina di Peyton recitava queste parole:
" A deep girl in a shallow world"

All I've heard about Lucas and a 'new girl' - is that there is a fun and flirtatious relationship - but I don't know if that is to mean that they are friends or business associates who flirt, or are actually involved. Relationship is a pretty generic term, I mean I have a relationship with my daughter, my husband, my co-workers, my friends, you get the picture... Lucas has probably told her she is the one though
From what I know L/P ended as a result of following different paths and that they drifted apart and just went their separate ways.
I think, unfortunately, that both L/P and B/L fans will get bones most of the season and that it won't be until much later in the season that Lucas actually ends up with either of them. I'm sure Lucas will still be the only guy Brooke has ever truly loved, and Peyton will have been pining for him secretly all this time. Lucas probably will want both girls to be the one by his side at that 'moment' dependent on which day it is.. ya know the norm.

Okay, on to Lindsey and Lucas. Lindsey tells Lucas that his first novel was good and that she really felt like she knew him after reading it from cover to cover. But she's pressuring him to finish another novel. Lucas is dragging his feet about the next one and although he and she have a good relationship, she is disappointed in him. Lindsey works for a publishing company and she says that her boss is on her about this next book.
Lucas asks Lindsey for more time because he's cute and she has the hots for him. Lindsey is supposed to be pretty.

Matt in Manhattan Beach, California: Korbi, Jen, talk to me about One Tree Hill! Gimme some scoopage. I hear there are new characters? Where will the old gang be when the show comes back?
As you know, we’re fast forwarding four plus years into the future, but it looks like much of the gang will be back in Tree Hill this fall. We’re hearing that Lucas could be coaching the illustrious Ravens basketball team, in fact, and really getting into it with a kid named Quentin, the star player who’s selfish and arrogant.

Carrie side: Scene starts off at the Scott house in their kitchen. Haley is getting ready to leave for the day. She says that she doesn't have time for breakfast, so Carrie hands her breakfast in a tupperware container. Then Haley starts to remind her about James' pediatrician appointment, but Carrie remembers before Haley can even finish her sentence. Then Carrie mentions that James has a play date at 2 also, and that she has made a blueberry snack for them. Haley is of course amazed at Carrie's efficiency. Haley says that she doesn't know what she would do without Carrie, and Carrie jokes that she would be fine...for like a day. Before leaving, Haley tells Carrie that Lucas is there fixing James' bike. Haley leaves. The script says that Carrie smiles slyly then she removes her top and goes outside in only her bra.

Carrie goes out back and pretends that she didn't know Lucas was there. He sees her and quickly turns away and she puts her shirt back on. She makes small talk by telling him that she thinks it's great that he is so close to James. Then she says that she doesn't know Lucas very well, but that she would like to get to know him better. He says okay. He proceeds to tell her some things about himself. He says that he likes to read, play basketball, and that he likes anything with music. She's like bored and says that he needs to tell her something good, like where he would take her on their first date. He smiles and states that it would have to be somewhere that his girlfriend is not.

Carrie responds that she wants to know where he would take her hypothetically. Lucas charms her by saying that they would go to an Italian restaurant, then to see a band, and some place quiet to talk. She then tells him what she likes to do. She says she likes to work out and to go to the beach. Hypothetically, on a first date, she would probably start the mosh pit when they go to see the band and then she says that it would be hard to talk in his quiet place. He asks her if she likes to talk, but she says that it would be hard to get a word in with her tongue in his mouth. Lucas chuckles and there is a definite tension between them. Carrie then says that she might let Lucas take her home and then he could help her out of her clothes and tie her to the bed if he wants. She says if he were charming enough she would let him do those things. Hypothetically. The script says that she eyes him "hungrily." The scene ends with her staring at him.

Carrie: la scena inizia alla casa Scott nella loro cucina. Haley si sta preparando per uscire per la giornata. dice che non ha tempo per la colazione, così carrie le mette la colazione in un contenitore. Poi haley inizia a ricordarle dell'appuntamento di James dal pediatra, ma Carrie lo ricorda prima ancora che haley finisca la frase. poi carrie dice che James ha un play date alle 2, e che ha preparato un bluebarry snack per loro.
Haley è colpita dall'efficienza di Carrie. Haley dice che non sarebbe che fare senza di lei, e carrie dice scherzando che starebbe bene.. per un giorno. Prima di uscire, haley dice a carrie che Lucas è lì per aggiustare la bici di James. Haley esce. Il copione dice che Carrie sorride poi si toglie il top ed esce fuori solo in reggiseno.

Carrie esce e pretende di non sapere che lucas era lì. Lui la guarda e velocemente si gira e lei si rimette la maglietta. Lei gli dice che pensa sia fantastico che lui sia così vicino a James. Poi dice che non conosce lucas molto bene, ma che vorrebbe conoscerlo meglio. Lui dice che va bene. Così le dice qualcosa su di lui. Dice che gli piace leggere, giocare a basket e gli piace qualsiasi cosa con la musica. lei sembra annoiata e dice che lui deve dirle qualcosa di bello, come dove la porterebbe per una prima uscita. Lui sorride e dice che dovrebbe essere un posto in cui la sua ragazza non c'è.

Carrie risponde che vuole sapere dove la porterebbe ipoteticamente. Lucas risponde che la porterebbe in un ristorante italiano, poi a vedere una band, e un posto tranquillo per parlare. Poi lei gli dice coa le piace fare. dice che le piace work out e andare in spiaggia. Peyton is living in LA working for a record label, and apparently she's been there for four years. She has interaction with a 40 year old guy named Dave.

NH's son is being called Jamie in the script.

Fergie and Junk are also in 5.01 as well as Skills which we knew. The three are playing basketball with Jamie.

By the way, it appears that Uncle Luke and Jamie have a cute relationship. Jamie is sitting in the empty classroom with his mom when Lucas arrives there.

I forgot to mention that Peyton isn't that successful at her job. She's no mega-star or anything. In fact, she is the assistant to the assistant at the record label. So, I'm glad to hear that. She appears to be someone trying to move up the ladder so she has started at the ground floor.

Also, the script says that it's the "Writer's draft" which means that a lot could change by the time filming rolls around.

I didn't think Haley was gong to be doing anything with music, because I heard that Joy doesn't want to sing anymore on the show.

There are more sides.One is for Barry, Nathan's agent and the other is for Millicent, Brooke's assistant. I would say it's almost confirmed that Brooke is in NY based on the side. Nathan is described as unkempt and unshaven and he appears to be having a pity party. We also have a flashback with Lucas in LA for his book signing.

Lucas steps into Lindsey's office. It's nice. Cluttered but with purpose. Lindsey sits behind her desk, business sexy in a pencil skirt, etc. She's on the phone.

From outside her office, her assistant Kim eyes Katie.

KIM: If she closes the door, he's screwed...

LINDSEY: No, I have the uncorrected proofs, I need the corrected ones. OK, I have to go. Thanks. Bye.

Lindsey hangs up and we get a good look at her. She's smart pretty. Driven, but not in a hard way.

LUCAS: Hi.

LINDSEY: Hi.

LUCAS: OK, before you yell at me, I'm sorry I missed another deadline. I know you have people to answer to, and it's not fair to you.

Lucas looks down and spies his novel on her coffee table. Lindsey follows his eyes.

LINDSEY: I remember the first time I read it. I was a junior editor...just out of college...missing my friends. I took two dozen manuscripts home for the weekend, just like I did every weekend, hoping that this time something would speak to me. And it did.

Lindsey remembers it all, smiles gently at the memory.

LINDSEY: It was the sixth novel I read that Sunday, and I read it cover to cover. Every word. And in a way, I knew you before I knew you.

LUCAS: Linds --

LINDSEY: It was a great first novel, Luke. It brought you to me. But a writer's career is about a body of work. You know? It's about the second book, and the third and fourth. I mean, half the assistants in here have a first novel.

From outside the office, Kim calls through the door.

KIM: I have one, Luke. It's good. You should read it some time.

Lindsey glances at Kim and she cowers.

LINDSEY: It's been two years. And that wouldn't scare me if I thought you were writing, but you're not. So what am I supposed to do, Luke? Because I have a boss who's killing me. I have the Publisher. I have...rent. Gimme something.

Lucas looks at her somberly. Then...

LUCAS: You could give me a little more time because I'm cute and you're hot for me?

Lindsey doesn't want to smile. She doesn't. Until she does.

LINDSEY: You take advantage of me.

LUCAS: I'm kidding --

LINDSEY: -- you take advantage of me, Lucas Scott, because I'm nice, but this is serious. I put my ass on the line for you.

LUCAS: You know you love me...

He smiles, but this time...Lindsey doesn't. She sobers. Almost looks sad.

LINDSEY: It was a great first novel.

LUCAS: Lindsey...

LINDSEY: Close the door, Luke.

This time, he sobers. A beat and Lucas closes us out.

INT. LIMOUSINE - NIGHT

Brooke and Nick enter to find Lydia, no nonsense, 50's, highly fashionable, waiting.

LYDIA: How was it?

BROOKE: Someone should do something about the paparazzi. They're completely out of control.

LYDIA: We pay a lot of money to have them ask about the line. I hope you were nice. Nick, did you enjoy yourself?

NICK: I did. I thought the movie was --

LYDIA: (to the driver) Driver, you can pull over now. (to Nick) I'm sorry, doll. You were saying?

NICK: Oh, um, I just...liked the movie.

Lydia smiles at him as the limo stops. A beat and the Driver opens the door. Lydia motions for Nick to exit.

LYDIA: Well, thank you Nick. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Nick climbs from the car, a bit confused.

NICK: Oh. All right. I just thought --

LYDIA: -- you thought you'd have your way with my designer. A little tongue kissing, a little fondling. Something dirty but not freaky.

NICK: Well, no, I just --

LYDIA: -- It's Clothes Over Bro's, Nicky. We want the tabloids to think she's sleeping with you. She's not actually sleeping with you. (pleasantly to the driver) All set.

Lydia pulls the door closed, shutting Nick out with a thud. As they pull away, she turns to find Brooke staring at her, mouth agape, a bit of a chuckle.

BROOKE: Ohmygod, you are so rude.

LYDIA: It's been a long day. But tomorrow's gonna be longer.

Lydia glances at the day's schedule, but knows it by heart.

LYDIA: You have an interview at 9 about taking the company public. I'll be there for the finer points, you simply have to look beautiful and talk about your passion and creativity and blah blah blah...

Brooke sags playfully at this.

LYDIA: I've also made some changes to the model rotation in light of the additional scrutiny we'll surely get from the press.

Lydia hands a list to Brooke who scans it. Then...

BROOKE: Wait, I think you --

LYDIA: -- she's not on the list.

BROOKE: She's my friend.

LYDIA: She's not your friend, she's an employee. Besides, her lifestyle is completely out of control and she looks like crap.

BROOKE: I don't know...

LYDIA: Brooke, Clothes Over Bro's is a multi-million dollar company. A company that you've entrusted to me to make these kinds of executive decisions. We need to cut her loose.

BROOKE: You're gonna fire her?

Lydia eyes her simply as the limo slows to a stop.

LYDIA: No. You're gonna fire her. It's your company, my dear. I just work here.

With that, Lydia exits. Off Brooke's worried face...

Carrie takes a pan out of the oven. Haley rushes in.

Carrie hands Haley a Tupperware container.

HALEY: Thanks. Oh, I forgot to mention James has a --

CARRIE: -- a pediatrician appointment at one. Playdate at two. So I see it's you turn to make a snack.

HALEY: Damn it, I forgot.

CARRIE: (re: a pan) You made a blueberry buckle.

Haley smiles gratefully.

HALEY: Thank you, Carrie. I don't know what I'd do without you.

CARRIE: You'd be fine...for like, a day. You better get along. I'll see ya, tonight.

HALEY: OK. Oh, by the way, Lucas is here working on James' bike. He's out back.

CARRIE: No problem.

Haley exits. Carrie smiles slyly, removes her top then steps out back in her bra.

CARRIE: Oh, Lucas. I didn't know you were here.

LUCAS: (turning away) I see that.

CARRIE: Sorry.

Carrie turns away, pulls on her top, then turns back.

CARRIE: So, I think it's great that you're so close with James.

LUCAS: He's a pretty great kid.

CARRIE: Yeah. He is.

A silence decends. Then...

CARRIE: Listen, Luke. We don't really know each other that well, but I'd like to. You know, get to know you better.

LUCAS: OK. What do you wanna know?

CARRIE: I don't know. What do you like to do?

LUCAS: I guess I read a lot. Play basketball. I'm a music fan. Kind of your run of the mill guy's guy.

CARRIE: C'mon, gimme something good. Like, where's Lucas Scott gonna take me on a first date.

LUCAS: Well, we'd definitely have to go somewhere my girlfriend's wouldn't be.

Carrie smiles. Lucas smiles back.

CARRIE: Hypothetically.

LUCAS: Hypothetically? We'd go to dinner. Probably Italian, but whatever you like. Maybe go see a band. Then find someplace quiet where we could talk for a while. Especially if it's a first date.

Carrie is charmed.

CARRIE: That's nice.

LUCAS: And how 'bout you? What do you like to do?

CARRIE: Well, I don't really have a lot of free time, but I work out a lot. I like the beach.

LUCAS: And how 'bout that first date?

CARRIE: You asking me out, Luke?

LUCAS: Hypothetically.

Carrie eyes him.

CARRIE: Well, I'd of course be extremely charming at dinner, I'd probably start the mosh pit when we went to see the band, and when you found us that quiet place to talk, I don't think you'd get a word in.

LUCAS: You like to talk.

CARRIE: Talking's OK. It's just...it's be hard for you to talk with my tongue in your mouth.

Lucas chuckles and looks down. The air gets thicker.

CARRIE: And I know it's just a first date, so you'd have to be pretty charming for me to let you take me home, slide me out of my jeans, tie me to the bed and do whatever you want to me.

Lucas looks up. Carrie eyes him hungrily.

CARRIE: I'm not saying it wouldn't happen. I'm just saying you'd have to be pretty charming.

She holds his gaze. Then...

CARRIE: Hypothetically.

INT. LUCAS' OFFICE - TREE HILL HIGH - AFTERNOON

Lucas looks up from his desk to find Quentin in the doorway.

QUENTIN: You wanted to see me?

Quentin doesn't wait for the invitation, he saunters in and flops down in the chair opposite Lucas. He smile arrogantly and puts his feet up on the edge of the desk.

QUENTIN: Let me guess? You want me back, right?

LUCAS: Not unless you take your feet off my desk.

QUENTIN: Surprised it took you this long. But yeah, I guess I'll play.

LUCAS: I didn't offer you the spot, yet.

QUENTIN: You will. With the squad you got? You need me.

Lucas dead eyes the kid.

LUCAS: Let me tell you how it's gonna go. First, I'm the coach. You do what I say and I don't ask you twice. For instance, there's the matter of your feet on my desk.

Quentin drops his feet to the floor.

LUCAS: I'm building a team. You play your part and do what I say, or you're gone. That's it.

Lucas doesn't blink.

LUCAS: Just so we're clear.

Quentin nods, ingesting the lecture, then...

QUENTIN: Look, we both know I'm the best shooting guard in the state. So how 'bout you cut the shit?

Quentin leans forward.

QUENTIN: I ain't playin' no zone defense. Matter of fact, I might not play defense at all. On offense, I need my minutes, so I'll play when I want, and I'll sit when I want. Another thing, that weak-ass point guard you're planning on starting? You musta lost your mind. Find someone that can feed me the ball. You do all that, you can stand on the sideline, hold your clipboard, and watch me work. When we win, I might even let you take the credit.

Quentin rises and moves for the door. He pauses in the doorway. Then grins.

QUENTIN: You can call me "Q," coach. I like you. But that's how it's gonna go.

His smile fades.

QUENTIN: Just so we're clear.

With that Quentin exits, leaving Lucas alone

-In the morning: Peyton is the assistant to the assistant of the label president. During her first encounter with Dave (her boss), she was sitting on his desk doing boring stuff..updating online downloads reports and call sheets. She recommends unsigned bands the label should sign and Dave turns her down and wasn't interested. As she was leaving his office, Dave calls her back and tells her she looks nice and to "drop a button on that top" and he will let her sit on the next day's new music session. Peyton obliges. <Don't freak out about that!> He says "one button, one song..go get me aspirin."

In the evening: They signed an artist that Peyton refers to as horrible and she asked why she was signed. Dave gives this lame explanation about making an artist "look hot." And Peyton responds by saying how we're making the world a dumber place. They talk about how long Peyton's been in LA. She said 4 years and she came because she wanted to "discover and sign bands that could change someone's life. Like the artists changed my life." Dave tells her that their job is to make money and tells Peyton that Rock and Roll can't save the world. She disagrees with that statement. She believes kids are looking for something to believe in and music can save their world. Dave responds by pointing out that she's been in LA for a couple of years and basically questions where her thinking got her...yeah she's still the struggling assistant to the assistant. Dave tells her the sooner she figures out how to "play the game" the sooner she'll get what she wants.

But Peyton doesn't want to play the game ... Dave said she already did by dropping a button for him. If she drops a few more, she'll get his job. Peyton declines and says she'll have his job one day but not that way.

Brooke barely slows to scrutinize a seamstress holding a belted dress.

BROOKE: -- Then the week after that. Very nice. Make the belt a quarter inch wider.

She walks on, Millicent in hot pursuit.

BROOKE: We need to send something funny with a thank you card to Conan. Oh, cheese. He likes cheese.

MILLICENT: You want me to send Conan O'Brien cheese?

She pauses to pound on the glass window of a layout manager's office. Inside, two executives scrutinize a mock up of a magazine cover with a rail thin model on the cover.

BROOKE: -- No way in hell she gets on the cover of my magazine unless she gains ten pounds. That look is unhealthy.

LAYOUT MANAGER: (through the window) We were just brainstorming.

BROOKE: Well, brainstorm better. Anorexia's a disease, not a fashion statement.

Brooke starts away, then stops abruptly, as does Millicent.

BROOKE: What do I smell?

Brooke sniffs the air.

MILLICENT: Um, it's your coffee. Mocha double latte, extra foam.

BROOKE: Last time there wasn't any foam. I like foam. Is there foam?

MILLICENT: Extra foam.

Brooke takes the coffee and heads for her office.

BROOKE: What time is the movie premiere?

MILLICENT: Eight o'clock. Red carpet at six.

BROOKE: OK, I'll do the carpet and skip the movie. Call one of the Nicks and see if they'd like to go.

MILLICENT: OK, um, which Knick do you prefer? There's Stephon Marbury, Jamal Crawford... Oh, David Lee is really cute.

BROOKE: Not the New York Knicks, you goof. One of the Nicks. Nick Zano, Nick Lachey, Nick Cannon. And tell Lydia to wait for me in the limo.
